The impact of Social media on Tourist attitudes: A study on Malarikkal, Kottayam

This paper intends to assess the impact of social media coverage and promotion of a tourist destination. This study focuses on the attitude formation over the social media posts and discussions on a location. Here the aspect of e-word-of-mouth communication is probed through online interaction with tourists visited Malarikkal, a place famous for pink water lilies, in Thiruvarppu Panchayath of Kottayam District. Kerala. Also, the responses and experiences from the authorities over the promotion of Malarikkal over online media are recorded for analysis.
The digital ethnography method is employed in order to study the digital ecosphere of selected users and their interaction with content.
